Book and Peg is a limited edition wall-mounted bookshelf designed by the artist Marc Camille Chaimowicz. Born in postwar Paris, Chaimowicz has developed a cross-disciplinary practice that embraces both fine and applied arts — taking the form of installations and objects such as wallpaper, ceramics, furniture and textiles. Like the artist’s dressing tables and chairs, Book and Peg is hand-made in France using birch plywood and coloured linoleum. Two solid brass pegs slot into the shelf to provide a support for books or other objects.
As the first flat-pack furniture by Chaimowicz, the shelf is delivered in a bespoke presentation box with a signed and numbered certificate and instruction sheet. No tools are required for assembly.
